Infosec Skills release: Network Traffic Analysis Cyber Range and new learning paths

January 21, 2020

A new Network Traffic Analysis Cyber Range is live in Infosec Skills, providing a way for teams and individuals to gain practical experience using tools to capture and analyze network traffic. Two new learning paths are also live, Web Server Protection and Network Security Fundamentals.

New cyber range: Network Traffic Analysis

The Network Traffic Analysis Cyber Range develops real-world traffic analysis skills through the use of tools like Terminal Shark (TShark) and Scapy. As you progress through the labs in the cyber range, you’ll learn how to:

  • Perform live traffic analysis with TShark
  • Identify abnormal traffic
  • Extract files from network traffic
  • Decrypt SSL- and TLS-encrypted traffic
  • Monitor network traffic with TShark and other tools
  • Use Scapy to view, manipulate and write scripts
  • Collect network traffic using honeyboxes and other tools

The Network Traffic Analysis Cyber Range is cloud-hosted on virtual machines to provide the most realistic learning environment possible. Learn more about the 130+ labs available across all seven Infosec Skills cyber ranges.

Two new Infosec Skills learning paths

Two new learning paths were recently added to Infosec Skills: Web Server Protection, which is taught by cloud security engineer Manuel Leos Rivas, and Network Security Fundamentals, which is taught by Mesh Networking founder Kevin Carter. There are now nearly 70 learning paths available in Infosec Skills containing more than 530 courses.
