About Paraben DSMO Mobile Operator Certification

Upon completion you will be able to operate the E3 Forensic Platform through the three primary areas of mobile evidence capture. The first stage of acquisition will focus on both the logical and physical imaging of devices. The DSMO course will focus on a variety of devices from feature phones, Androids and iOS Apple devices. Physical acquisition will also be reviewed with feature phones and Androids. The analysis portion will focus on the searching, reviewing and app analysis that is commonly used in mobile forensics. Finally, the review of data through the use of bookmarking and reporting will round out the cornerstones required for doing proper digital forensic investigations of mobile devices.

Installation

Course - 00:06:00

The installation and setup section will walk you through the setup and configuration of the E3 Forensic Platform on your forensic workstation. Do note in a non-training scenario all digital forensics should be done on a separate workstation.
Licensing

This course will review the different licensing options for the E3 Forensic Platform, including the internet license, direct machine license and dongle license options.
E3:DS Interface

Course - 00:04:00

This course will explore the E3:DS interface, including the layout, tabs and menus.
Cases and Adding Evidence

Acquiring Phones

Course - 00:13:00

There are three primary mobile devices that we be focused on in the course, the feature phone, iOS device, and Android device. Each device type will be show both logically and physically and the process to acquire data with both options.
Importing Backups

Course - 00:02:00

Other backups can be available for mobile devices that can be used when device access and control are not available. This course will review the options for importing these data sources.
Reviewing the Data

This course clarifies how to sort data, parsing data associated with smartphones, and the process for App review.
Cloud Data

Review of the basics of importing and processing this information as well as recovery of keys will be covered.
Searching

Review of keyword search options and methods for searching through sorted files will be covered.
Bookmarks and Reporting

Course - 00:03:00

There are a variety of methods used to filter and review the most valuable information when it comes to processing mobiles. This course explores the bookmarking process and reporting options in the E3 Forensic Platform.

Amber Schroader

Amber Schroader is the CEO and Founder of Paraben Corporation. She has spent the last two decades as a driving force for innovation in digital forensics. Amber has developed over two-dozen software programs designed for the purposes of recovering digital data from mobile phones, computer hard drives, email and live monitoring services. In addition to designing technology for digital forensics, she also spearheaded the procedures for mobile and smartphone devices as well as the emerging field of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices.
