Syllabus
Course description
In this course, we will introduce a seven-step, business- and risk-driven process to develop security architectures. Among other things, we will examine business requirements as the drivers for security, data classification to understand the value of business information, security requirements to address prioritized information risks and architectural issues and risks which should inform future security budgeting and roadmap decisions.


Meet the author
Luciana Obregon is a security architect at PayPal Holdings, Inc., a worldwide online payments system and money transfer company. Prior to PayPal, Luciana spent nine years working for Marathon Petroleum Corporation serving under several capacities, including security solutions architecture, security engineering and network security engineering. Luciana’s primary focus is on developing security solutions that are business- and risk-driven in order to enable organizations to secure their critical business information systems and information against cyber-adversaries.
In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering from the Argentinian Airforce University and a master’s degree in information security engineering from SANS Technical Institute, Luciana holds several security certifications. Her notable certifications include CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and GSE (GIAC Security Expert).
