Domain 3: Security

This course includes coverage of the third domain of the test objectives: Security. The course includes lessons that cover some of the existing security functionality for the Linux operating system, network and storage.

Course description

The lessons in this course review concepts and commands related to traditional UGO file permissions of rwx, the special permissions like SetUID, SetGID and Sticky Bit. Lessons also cover advanced OS and application security through SELinux and AppArmor, as well as covering concepts like authentication, logging tools like rsyslog and the systemd journal, firewalls, backup and compression as well as general security best practices.

Advanced security

An introduction to general firewall concepts and specific Linux firewall tools like firewalld, iptables, ufw and netfilter, as well as Linux tools to control access.
