  • What is a CPU? Video — 00:15:04
    • CPUs support a specific set of instructions and have multiple pipelines in order to handle multiple instructions at the same time.

  • CPU Speeds and Cores Video — 00:12:02
    • Today’s AMD and Intel CPUs use the same set of instructions, and a CPU’s clock speed describes (roughly) how fast it processes these instructions.

  • Caching Video — 00:07:13
    • With CPUs being so fast today, they must store small amounts of high-speed RAM known as cache to avoid stalling.

  • 32-Bit vs. 64-Bit Processing Video — 00:11:58
    • The move from 32-bit to 64-bit processing continues to create challenges for technicians and it’s critical that we understand the differences and effects of choosing one or the other.

  • CPU Sockets Video — 00:12:16
    • Both AMD and Intel use unique CPU packages that install into their respective sockets, and it’s imperative for a tech to know the most popular sockets available today and the types of CPUs that use them.

  • Installing a CPU Video — 00:11:03
    • Every computer needs a CPU, and though the installation steps are straightforward, they should be handled with care to prevent EMP damage.

  • Liquid Cooling Video — 00:03:58
    • Liquid cooling isn’t just for enthusiasts, and today’s liquid cooling solutions are easy to use and interface with any system.
