"I love the fact that Infosec is constantly updating their Infosec Skills training library with the latest information technology and cybersecurity topics. Their self-paced training helps students like me who prefer to learn online instead of just solely reading books." We sat down with Angel Sayani, a 19-year-old entrepreneur and app developer that passed 13 certification exams within just seven months, to learn about her training success.

Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?

My name is Angel and I’m the founder of a Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS), software ML and application-AI robotics company — IntellChromatics Inc. I also enjoy app development and have published an Android app in the Google Play Store, providing WhatsApp users with a variety of stickers to send to friends and family!

Even though I am only 19 years old, I prepared for and passed numerous industry certifications within just seven months including:

Associate of (ISC)² Cloud Security Alliance’s CCSK
CompTIA CASP+ CompTIA Security+
CompTIA PenTest+ CompTIA Cloud Essentials+
CompTIA CySA+ CompTIA Cloud+
CompTIA Server+ CompTIA Network+
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner LPI Linux Essentials
GAQM Certified Forensic Analyst

Why are certifications important to you?

Certifications are a reliable way to demonstrate that you have proven mastery and expertise in your respective field. I want to train towards becoming a prodigy in the field of information technology. In fact, I am already familiar with artificial intelligence, machine learning and neural algorithms! I’m looking forward to enriching my knowledge on these subjects even further by completing my degree, training with Infosec Skills and earning more certifications.

Infosec Skills has helped me prep for my most rigorous and difficult certification exams — (ISC)² CISSP and CompTIA CASP+. I found it extremely valuable to have access to Infosec’s library of 1,400+ cybersecurity courses, labs, projects, practice exams and skills rank assessments during my exam preparation.

What drew you to cybersecurity in the first place?

I was really influenced by a research paper on Metasploit and how to build defensive cybersecurity skills. Seeing how an open-source framework can be easily modified and used with most operating systems to infiltrate vulnerabilities on networks and servers made me curious to learn more. I started to explore online training focusing on cyber and ethical hacking through Infosec Skills and online practice tests, which inspired me to start my career in this exhilarating field. I feel gratified to have already earned both the Associate of (ISC)² and CompTIA’s CASP+ as these are two major and very challenging certifications for any individual looking for a good career in cybersecurity.

Labs are the most helpful part of any certification preparation — they help you fortify your existing skills and validate your hands-on, job skills.
