This course will focus on different ways of obtaining Denial of Service in Node.js and how to prevent them.

    Syllabus

  • Denial of service over memory exhaustion Video — 00:15:19
    • This video will discuss the impact of memory leaks in the case of Node.js applications and how they can lead to a denial of service.

  • Denial of service though object deserialization Video — 00:15:31
    • This video introduces DoS-over-object serialization and deserialization. Have you ever wondered if a single huge JSON file could break an application?

  • Refresher about Denial of Service Video — 00:15:38
    • This video will focus on different ways of obtaining Denial of Service in Node.js and how to prevent them. It will cover the cases of ReDoS (Regex DoS) and pool exhaustion.

  • Denial of service over pool exhaustion Video — 00:14:21
    • This video demonstrates how some applicative resources can be used to obtain a denial of service. We will use the example of a MongoDB injection used to block the single thread.

  • Denial of Service over regular expressions Video — 00:16:25
    • This video looks at exploits in Regular Express DoS and gives answers on how to avoid them.
