The IT Auditor role includes a variety of entry-level information security positions (and some more advanced positions) focused on evaluating an organization's systems and operations. This role requires an understanding of internal auditing procedures, risk assessments and compliance requirements — and can grow into a career requiring more advanced certifications. The IT Auditor is one of four entry-level, core cybersecurity roles mapped directly to the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education’s CyberSeek model.

The Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification path is focused on preparing you for the CISA exam through testing of knowledge and the ability to apply it to real-world scenarios. You'll learn the skills necessary to develop, manage and supervise programs that defend against unauthorized admittance to information.
The Information Security Auditing skills path covers information systems security from the perspective of governance, implementation and operations. You'll learn the auditing process and the importance of protecting information assets.
The Internal Auditing skills path teaches you information about the audit lifecycle and methodology. You'll learn about auditing software and tools, report writing and other auditing best practices.
The Risk Assessment skills path teaches you a repeatable process to evaluate business risks
