How to perform a connection test
Go to the Zoom meeting test page (if you recieve an “invalid meeting ID” error, manually enter the URL in your browser: https://zoom.us/test).
Click on the blue “Join” button to test your connection.
If Zoom is not installed on your computer, follow the prompts to download and run Zoom (if it does not automatically open, click on the download file and follow the installation prompts).
Once Zoom is installed, it will prompt you to “Open Zoom Meetings.” Then “Join without video” to start the test. (Please note that your webcam video feed will be disabled during class.)
Note: If you do not want to install Zoom, you can use the “join from your browser” link at the bottom of the page.
Follow the prompt to ensure your speakers are working. If the ringtone does not play, you may need to adjust the volume or choose a different speaker from the drop-down menu.
Then ensure your microphone is working. If you cannot hear a replay of yourself, you may need to select another microphone from the drop-down menu.
Once you’ve confirmed your microphone and speakers are working, you can exit the test meeting.
